A team from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Anti-Money Laundering Cell reached the residence of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa murder case, for investigation but had to leave without success as the house remained locked.

Initially, the FIA was scheduled to visit Armaghan’s house on Monday. However, the agency stated that before proceeding, officials would first meet with police authorities to gather complete information regarding the case.

FIA officials, accompanied by SHO Gizri, remained outside the suspect’s house for nearly an hour. On the scene, Armaghan’s lawyers were also present. Despite repeated attempts to contact his father, Kamran Qureshi, and continuous knocking on the door, no response was received.

The investigation was launched after police formally requested the FIA’s involvement in the case. Following this, the FIA’s Cyber Crime Cell and Anti-Money Laundering Cell formed a special team to investigate Armaghan’s financial and digital records.

According to the report, Armaghan operated an illegal software house and a call center through which he defrauded foreigners of billions of dollars.

He also owned multiple digital currency accounts to manipulate cryptocurrency transactions. In an attempt to erase evidence of his crimes, he allegedly engaged the police in a violent clash during the raid to buy time for deleting crucial data.

The accused had earlier been arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in six criminal cases related to drug dealing, attempted murder, and terrorism. These cases were registered at various police stations, including Darakhshan, Sahil, Gizri, and Boat Basin.

In addition to the FIA’s involvement, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has also been directed to investigate the Mustafa Amir murder case.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly Standing Committee on Interior formed a sub-committee to oversee the case.

According to an official notification, the committee comprises former federal minister Abdul Qadir Patel, National Assembly members Agha Rafiullah, Nabeel Gabol, and MQM’s Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan.

The committee has summoned Sindh Inspector General (IG) for the next meeting to discuss developments in the case.
