The medical board, led by Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, gathered samples from the exhumed body of Mustafa Amir on Friday at the Edhi cemetry in Kemari. Dr Syed stated that the cause of victim's death cannot not be determined from these samples; a DNA test will be conducted.
The court had ordered the constitution of a three-member medical board that exhumed Mustafa on Friday. The remains were shifted to the Edhi morgue after collecting samples, as the body would not be buried before receiving the DNA reports.
According to the report, after matching the DNA with the deceased mother, the body would be handed over to the family.
“The entire exercise aimed to identify the body but would not determine the cause of death, said Dr Summaiya Syed while speaking to journalists.

“It is very difficult to carry out DNA Test of such severely burnt bodies, this is why we have collected 11 samples.”
She added that the samples were dispatched to the lab at the University of Karachi, and it will take “three to seven days to find out the result.”
Following the exercise, the judicial magistrate wrote to the Edhi officials that after exhumation, the remains were transported to the Edhi mortuary, where it would be kept there until the DNA reports.
“If the report results in positive, the body would be handed over to heirs, but if not, it will be buried in the abandoned cemetery,” the letter noted.
On February 18, in compliance with the court’s order, a medical board was formed for the exhumation of the deceased Mustafa Aamir in connection with his murder case.

Amir, a resident of Karachi, was reported missing on January 6, with authorities later discovering his charred remains in a vehicle in Balochistan, as disclosed during a press conference on Friday.
The police indicated that they became aware of the death following a startling confession from a suspect during the investigation.
As the narrative developed, investigators revealed on Saturday that the circumstances surrounding the missing person's demise stemmed from a dispute related to a female individual.
