Mustafa Amir case: ATC grants five-day physical remand of suspects

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday granted the police a five-day physical remand of prime suspect Armaghan and his accomplice, Shiraz, in the Mustafa Amir murder case, while also ordering their medical examination.

The police submitted a report to the court regarding Armaghan's arrest and the recovery of armed weapons from his highly secured house in DHA.

According to the report, when police reached Armaghan's house, he did not open the door, prompting police  to force entry using a police vehicle.

When police went inside, Armaghan opened fire from the rooftop, injuring two police officers, DSP Ahsan Zulfiqar and Constable Muhammad Iqbal.

The report stated that Armaghan was using modern weapons and continued firing intermittently despite being asked to surrender.

After surrounding the house, police arrested Armaghan and seized a cache of modern weapons.

Additionally, the investigating officer reported that the suspects had tortured a girl named in the case. She was located and would undergo a DNA test, with her statement set to be recorded soon.

Following the report, the court approved a five-day physical remand for Armaghan and Shiraz and ordered a medical examination.

Earlier, a police officer detained on charges of facilitating accused Armaghan in the Mustafa Amir case was released after questioning.

According to details, ASI Nadeem of Karachi’s Gizri Police was interrogated regarding his alleged facilitation of Armaghan. 

ASI Nadeem stated that his interaction with Armaghan was solely in connection with ongoing investigations and denied any involvement in unlawful activities.
