The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat has asked Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi to provide details of the expenditures incurred on the renovation of cricket stadiums.

According to media reports, the committee has also requested a briefing on the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), in addition to a breakdown of costs related to stadium upgrades.

Chairman Naqvi is expected to brief the committee on the PCB’s performance over the past six months.

The stadium renovations were undertaken ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy, with upgrades made to facilities in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to enhance the experience for cricket fans.

Earlier, it emerged that the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has set a new benchmark for live sports viewership in the country, recording an 826.5% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The unprecedented surge in viewership came despite the league being held alongside the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the first time—an overlap most cricket boards traditionally avoid.

The HBL PSL was rescheduled to April this year from its usual February-March slot due to Pakistan’s hosting of the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
