NEOC issues urban flood warning as rainfall persists across Pakistan

The National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) has issued a formal weather advisory warning of continued rainfall across Pakistan over the next 24 to 48 hours, with a heightened risk of urban flooding in several major cities.
According to the alert, heavy downpours are expected to impact both Sindh and Punjab, raising concerns over flash flooding in urban areas.
Cities including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tharparkar, Badin, and Umerkot in Sindh, along with Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Mianwali in Punjab, have been identified as high-risk zones.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, monitor updates from official channels, and limit travel where possible.

Emergency response teams have been placed on high alert to manage potential flooding and ensure public safety.
At least 11 people lost their lives in rain-related incidents across different parts of Pakistan, as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast more rainfall in Karachi, Hyderabad, and other cities today (Friday).
The deaths were reported from Hyderabad, Punjab, Gilgit, and Thehri as heavy rain, strong winds, and dust storms affected several regions.
