Pakistan suffered 856 militant attacks in 2024, with 127 terrorists killed in November, the highest in a single month since 2017. A death toll of 245 individuals, including civilians and security forces, was recorded in anti-state violence last month.
Of the 118 deceased Pakistanis, 68 were security personnel and 50 were civilians, according to the data shared by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS)
November's toll on armed forces fighting terrorism was the highest since January 2023, when attacks claimed the lives of 114 security personnel.
The data showed that 127 terrorists were killed in November, the highest in a single month since February 2017 when 148 terrorists were gunned down.
At least 257 individuals were wounded, including 119 civilians, 104 security force personnel, and 34 terrorists. Additionally, 20 suspected terrorists and militants involved in the abduction of 11 individuals were arrested.
The country faced 71 terrorist attacks in November, more than the 68 in October."
Highlighting the escalating security challenges, the report stated that during 11 months of the ongoing year, the country witnessed 856 militant attacks, compared to 645 recorded in 2023.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan remained the most affected provinces. KP experienced 50 militant attacks, resulting in 71 deaths and 85 injuries during the month.
In Balochistan, 20 militant attacks led to 60 deaths, including 26 security personnel, 25 civilians, and nine militants. At least 78 civilians, 53 security force personnel, and four militants were wounded in these attacks.
No militant attack was recorded in Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Islamabad and Gilgit Baltistan experience no militant attacks , however, the attack at Punjab’s Dera Ghazi Khan’s police station was foiled successfully.
The mastermind of the attack was arrested from Sindh, The suspect also targeted the Chinese national at Karachi airport.
