A police vehicle which was part of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori’s protocol rammed into a car near the Sindh Assembly, leaving the driver critically injured.

The incident occurred in the wee hours of Wednesday when the victim, identified as Athar, was heading to Burns Road for Sehri, suddenly a speeding police mobile hit his car, leaving him severely injured, while the car was extensively dented.  

Athar was being treated at Jinnah Post Graduate Centre (JPMC), but his brother told that his condition remained unstable. 

He added that the police vehicle was traveling at a very high speed and collided with their car, causing it to spin out of control.

According to sources, the police vehicle involved in the accident belonged to Governor Kamran Tessori's protocol. Ironically, Governor Tessori has been vocal about the dangers of speeding heavy traffic, which has claimed hundreds of lives in Karachi.

Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori recently expressed concern over the surge in dumper accidents in Karachi, criticizsng authorities for their inability to address the issue. He highlighted the need for improved road safety measures in the city.

He stressed the need for improved measures to prevent such incidents, which cause loss of life and severe injuries.

Notably, the dumber responsible for the transit of the goods for import and export claimed at least 71 lives in 37 days of the ongoing year 2025, leaving 1,044 injured.
