A recent survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan revealed that over 85 percent of countrymen are against subjecting women to violence.
Almost 89 percent Pakistanis have declared that physically assaulting wife or any kind of violence against women is "unacceptable".
Unfortunately, 9 percent men supported the violence against women in the survey.
However, one percent took a neutral position on the issue of husband-wife violence and neither openly supported nor opposed it.
Contrary to the survey, as many as 40% women in Pakistan have experienced physical or emotional violence in their lifetime.
Meanwhile, divorced, widowed, and separated women suffered more violence than married women, the National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) revealed in a study.
