The Directors General of Military Operations (DGsMO) of Pakistan and India engaged in their third hotline conversation, during which both sides discussed the prevailing ground situation in detail.

According to informed sources, Pakistan’s DGMO, Major General Kashif Abdullah, and his Indian counterpart, Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, agreed to maintain the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) and uphold the "status quo" as agreed during their initial contact.

The ceasefire understanding was reportedly facilitated through diplomatic efforts by the United States and other friendly nations.

While the specifics of the latest interaction have not been officially released by either side, sources indicate that both military officials underscored the importance of sustaining peace based on the previous dialogue held earlier this week.

Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan is expected to brief the media on the matter later today.

Pakistan’s retaliatory attacks on May 10 devastated India’s defence infrastructure, after which the Modi government requested the US to mediate a ceasefire.

In an interview with the US-based media outlet CNN, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Premier, Ishaq Dar, said that the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared with him a message from India, seeking a ceasefire agreement after Pakistan’s retaliatory action through the launch of operation “Bunyanum Marsoos” in response to India’s cowardly escalation on May 10.
