Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Iranian counterpart Amirabdollahian have agreed to defuse tension after deadly strikes in each other territories.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson, Jalil Abbas Jilani underlined the need for joint coordination to eliminate terrorism.

Pakistan is ready to work with Iran, the FM Jilani said.

Earlier, caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani emphasized that Pakistan has no interest or desire in escalating tension with Iran.

In a telephonic conversation with Turkiye's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, he said that Pakistan's Operation Marg Bar Sarmachar was aimed at terrorist camps inside Iran.

Meanwhile, a day after Pakistan launched air strikes against terrorist hideouts in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, Tehran said it successfully carried out air defence drill using drones designed to intercept hostile targets in an area stretching from its southwestern to southeastern coasts.

On Thursday, Pakistan launched air strikes, targeting the hideouts of the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) in an intelligence based operation codenameed 'Marg Bar Sarmachar’.

“Iranian forces have successfully launched a new air defence method that uses drones to intercept and target hostile targets,” an Iranian army spokesman said, as quoted by state-run Press TV.
