In response to heightened border tensions, Pakistani authorities have bolstered security protocols at airports nationwide. As part of these enhanced measures, all incoming flights are under strict surveillance to ensure compliance with new regulations.
According to sources within the Aviation Department, a rigorous inspection policy has been implemented for all international flights entering Pakistani airspace.
A recent notification issued for airports across the country emphasised that Indian airlines were prohibited from utilising Pakistani airspace and airports. However, other international airlines continue to operate normally but under strict monitoring.

To maintain air security, aircrafts are required to provide their air defence code before being granted permission to enter Pakistani airspace. This decision was a direct response to the current geopolitical situation and escalating border tensions between Pakistan and India.
In addition to these measures, airport personnel, including officers and employees at all institutions within airports, including Allama Iqbal International Airport, were now required to wear identification and departmental badges at all times.
Movement within airport premises without proper identification has been strictly prohibited.
Security agencies, including police and airport security forces, were instructed to enhance coordination and ensure the effective implementation of security protocols.

The comprehensive measures were in place to address any potential emergencies, reflecting the authorities' commitment to maintaining safety and security in the aviation sector.
These steps were taken after the Indian allegation of Pakistan's involvement in the Pahalgam attack, underscoring the government's proactive approach to managing risks and ensuring the continued safety of air travel amid the prevailing security environment.
