Afghan forces resorted to unprovoked aggression against Pakistan by opening fire on several military posts in Kurram late Tuesday night. In a swift and calculated response, the Pakistan military launched retaliatory strikes, targeting crucial positions held by Afghan forces and the group Fitna Al Khawarij, forcing them to flee and raise a white flag as a signal of peace.

The intense border confrontation erupted merely two days after a deadly clash over the weekend, in which around 200 Afghan soldiers were killed, while 23 Pakistani troops embraced martyrdom.

Several videos circulating on social media, shared by the state news agency PTV, showed multiple Afghan posts being precisely hit by Pakistani strikes, with one clip capturing a military tank coming under direct fire. According to reports, a top terrorist linked with Fitna Al Khawarij was also killed during the retaliatory attacks.

Key Afghan military posts at Naresgar and Shamsadar suffered heavy damage, while footage revealed a moving tank catching fire after being struck. Following the strong counteraction by Pakistan’s forces, Afghan troops raised a white flag in a clear gesture of peace.

The confrontation follows a brief border clash last Saturday, after which Pakistan had already launched retaliatory operations against Afghanistan, destroying several terrorist camps. As tensions escalate between the neighboring states, the United States, China, and Saudi Arabia have urged restraint and offered mediation to defuse the situation.

Pakistan has consistently maintained its firm stance against the Afghan government’s inaction toward Indian-backed Fitna Al Khawarij, which continues to operate from Afghan territory and launch cross-border attacks through infiltration.

On Tuesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Ambassador Amna Baloch, also briefed ambassadors of various countries in Islamabad about the ongoing developments along the Pak-Afghan border.
