The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) strongly dismissed the provocative remarks made by India’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) during a recent media briefing, where he falsely claimed that Pakistan had lost 100 soldiers in clashes along the Line of Control (LoC) during the May conflict.
In response, Pakistan’s military said that the Indian DGMO continued to issue such “baseless and inflammatory” statements even five months after their defeat in the war, merely to serve political interests.
According to the statement, India’s far-right ruling party is attempting to boost its chances in the upcoming state elections in Bihar and West Bengal through warmongering and propaganda.
“Indian military leadership has started parroting the same delusional, fabricated, and provocative propaganda that it repeats before every state election in India,” the DG ISPR said in a statement.
“It is unfortunate to see the military leadership of a nuclear-armed country issuing irresponsible statements under immense political pressure,” the statement added. “The lies being fed to the Indian public and the international audience have turned the Indian military machine into a laughing stock.”
The DG ISPR further noted that “any professional soldier would understand that unnecessary chest-thumping and unwarranted statements can trigger a cycle of jingoism and have serious consequences for peace and stability in South Asia.”
Pakistan’s military also accused the Indian army of fabricating an unreasonable and false narrative by feeding lies to its own citizens through “Bollywood-style scripts.” It said the Indian army and political leadership were still unable to come to terms with the “heavy losses and crushing defeat” they suffered in the Marka-e-Haq conflict.
The statement added that India has now been fully exposed before the world due to its support for cross-border terrorism and its role in destabilising the region through disruptive and hegemonic adventurism.
Reaffirming its stance, the Pakistan Army said its forces remain fully alert and capable of countering any adventure or unwarranted aggression by India, vowing to defend every inch of the country’s borders.
“Every act of aggression will be met with a swift, resolute, and intense response that will be remembered by posterity,” the statement concluded.
