Pakistan sees 46pc surge in petroleum products imports in March 2026

Pakistan recorded a 46 percent increase in imports of petroleum products worth $415 million during March 2026.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported petroleum products worth $284 million in February 2026.
A large number of petroleum products were imported during the month of March 2026. In March 2926, Pakistan imported crude oil worth $647 million, which showed an increase of 54 percent in the import bill.
Crude oil worth $423 million was imported in February 26. The petroleum products include petrol, diesel, jet fuel, LPG, and LNG.
Overall, the petroleum group's import bill increased by 24% to a record $1.22 billion. On February 26, the petroleum group's imports were $982.8 million.
Experts said that Pakistan’s supply chain was not disrupted due to the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistan kept its fuel supply chain stable due to diplomatic efforts.
Experts further said that due to the unpredictable situation, Pakistan's petroleum product supply remained stable.
Pakistan’s import bill decreased by 5 percent during the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The bill amounts to $11.25 billion
