Pakistan welcomes positive developments over Gaza Peace Plan

Pakistan on Saturday welcomed the latest progress made under the Board of Peace towards implementing the Gaza Peace Plan.

In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan appreciated the continued mediation efforts of the United States, Egypt, Qatar and Turkiye, expressing hope that the recent developments would lead to the full implementation of all commitments under the peace plan.

The spokesperson said Pakistan believes these efforts should help advance the Palestinian people's inalienable right to self-determination through a credible and time-bound political process that is in line with international law, international legitimacy and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The statement added that the process should lead to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, contiguous and viable Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
