Amid a noticeable reduction in violent confrontations between Pakistan and India, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Mohammad Faisal, expressed hope that the ceasefire would endure and that Kashmiris' right to self-determination would be fulfilled.
In an interview with British media, Dr Faisal underscored that regional stability in South Asia is deeply linked to the resolution of the Kashmir issue, which, he said, must progress in line with the UN Charter and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Reiterating Pakistan’s continued and unwavering support for the freedom of Kashmir, he remarked that India has consistently ignored the legitimate demands and will of the Kashmiri people.
Dr Faisal also thanked the United States, Saudi Arabia, and other regional powers for playing a constructive role in defusing escalating tensions between Pakistan and India.
Addressing the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), he reaffirmed that Pakistan is willing to cooperate with India—provided the matter is investigated at the international level.

He stressed that the perpetrators of the attack must be brought to justice in accordance with the law and urged India to provide credible and solid evidence to support its allegations of cross-border terrorism.
