Pakistani prisoners in India at risk of being used against their own country: report

The failure of a suspected false flag operation has raised serious concerns about the possible exploitation of Pakistani prisoners by Indian intelligence agencies, with fears that they may be coerced into advancing Indian conspiracies or falsely portrayed as terrorists from Pakistan.
A media report siad that at least 56 Pakistani prisoners have been serving jail terms in India since 2003.
The recent incident in Indian-held Kashmir raises the risk of their use in an Indian conspiracy.
Indian intelligence agencies may use torture to force Pakistani prisoners to speak out against Pakistan. Similarly, there is also a fear that India may portray these prisoners as terrorists and kill them in fake encounters, Dawn News quoted anonymous sources as saying.

Earlier, in 2021, India had portrayed a Pakistani captive, Zia Mustafa, as a terrorist and killed him. He had been in Indian illegal custody since 2003.
According to sources, Indian intelligence agencies had killed Pakistani prisoner Muhammad Ali Hassan in a fake encounter in August 2022. He had also been in illegal detention by Indian intelligence agencies since October 27, 2006.
The authorities in Pakistan reiterated that India was attempting to play the Balakot-like drama in India and was creating a narrative of so-called terrorist camps. However, Pakistan is fully capable of giving a befitting reply to any Indian aggression.
