PM Sharif meets Saudi Crown Prince, discusses bilateral ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday, as the two leaders exchanged Eidul Adha greetings and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The meeting took place during PM Shehbaz’s two-day official visit to the Kingdom, where he was warmly received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In a rare gesture of personal camaraderie, the crown prince personally drove the prime minister to a royal luncheon hosted in his honour at the Royal Court.

Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, PM Shehbaz engaged in comprehensive discussions with the Saudi leadership.

Talks focused on enhancing cooperation across key sectors and promoting regional peace and stability.

The luncheon was attended by prominent Middle Eastern leaders, senior Saudi officials, and top military and civilian dignitaries.

The two leaders also shared an informal and cordial exchange, underscoring the strong personal rapport between them.

The prime minister’s grand reception and special guest status at the royal luncheon reflect the enduring brotherly relations between the two countries and mark a significant diplomatic milestone for Pakistan under Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.

PM Shehbaz and his delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The visit coincides with the ongoing Hajj pilgrimage and Eid celebrations. On Thursday night, the prime minister, Field Marshal Munir, and other members of the delegation performed Umrah.
