Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the missile and drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates.
In a post on his X handle uploaded on Tuesday, PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed full solidarity with the UAE President Mohamed Bin Zayed.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan stands firmly with Emirati brothers and sisters as well as with the Government of the United Arab Emirates at this difficult time.
He said it is absolutely essential that the ceasefire be upheld and respected, to allow necessary diplomatic space for dialogue leading to enduring peace and stability in the region
Iran has denied carrying out a planned attack on the UAE’s Fujairah port instead blaming what it called “US military adventurism” in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, an unnamed Iranian military official said Tehran had “no pre-planned program” to target oil installations in Fujairah.
The official claimed the incident was caused by US military actions aimed at opening maritime routes through restricted waters in the Strait of Hormuz.
