The Pakistan Metrological department has predicted rain and thunderstorms all over Pakistan with a sudden temperature drop in various cities as well.

PMD have also warned about the increasing smog and fog in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore, while the daytime temperatures are expected to drop more.

The PMD further stated that a new westerly system is about to hit Pakistan which more or likely will affect the central areas and the upper areas till 2 January.

In Punjab and Islamabad, there will be rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds along with snow, which will continue from the night of December 30 to the morning of January 2, with some interruptions.

Isolated rain, wind, and thunderstorm are expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Potohar Region, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujrat.

In Sindh, isolated light rain or drizzle is expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Dadu, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Thatta, Badin and adjoining areas on Dec 30.
