The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, windstorms, thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms in several parts of the country on Thursday, warning of possible damage to weak infrastructure.

According to the PMD, strong winds, lightning and hail may affect vulnerable structures, including solar panels, electricity poles and billboards.

Rain accompanied by windstorms and thunderstorms is expected in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, upper Sindh, and north and northeastern Balochistan.

Heavy rainfall is also likely in some areas of northeastern Balochistan and southern Punjab, while the rest of the country is expected to remain hot and dry.

In Karachi and nearby areas, the PMD has forecast light rain along with gusty winds, while most other districts of Sindh are likely to remain hot and dry.

The department has advised people to take precautionary measures, saying strong winds, hail and lightning could damage weak structures during the weather spell.
