Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan admitted that he, along with Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Ali Amin Gandapur, held a meeting with Army Chief General Asim Munir in Peshawar.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar confirmed that PTI’s concerns were presented to the Army Chief, describing the talks as a “welcoming gesture.”

“Direct talks with the establishment are welcome,” he said. “There is a positive development from the other side.”

Earlier, CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur had also disclosed his meeting with Gen Asim Munir.

Separately, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted its charter of demands in writing during the third round of negotiations with the government.

The charter called for the formation of two inquiry commissions, which would be headed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court or three senior judges, to be appointed with the consensus of PTI and the government. PTI stressed that the commissions should conduct open proceedings and be constituted within seven days.

The party also demanded that the arrests of PTI workers be evaluated for legal credibility and compliance with human rights. Additionally, PTI called for a review of multiple FIRs filed against single party leaders.

PTI further urged the government to investigate censorship and harassment of journalists, as well as to provide an estimate of the financial losses caused by internet outages in the country.

Omar Ayub, a senior PTI leader, emphasized that the party’s core demand remains the release of all political prisoners through a legal process, rejecting the possibility of any deal.

Member of the government’s negotiation committee, Senator Irfan Siddiqui told the media that the government would issue a formal response to PTI’s demands within seven days.
