President assures full support to Field Marshal amid tensions with Afghanistan

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir met with President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidential House on Wednesday, where they discussed rising security tensions along the border and the situation within the adjoining areas.
The crucial meeting took place shortly after the DG ISPR confirmed that Afghan forces attempted to target several locations in Balochistan.
However, these attacks were swiftly thwarted by the Pakistan Army, resulting in the deaths of over 15 perpetrators, including Afghan soldiers and members of Fitna al Khawarij.
The army chief specifically talked about recent tensions with the Afghan regime, highlighting their aggressive and provocative actions that have destabilised the region and risked further escalation.

He also briefed the president on the Pakistan Armed Forces’ careful yet decisive response to the aggression. In response, President Zardari reaffirmed his unwavering support for the military, stating that Pakistan will defend its borders and sovereignty under all circumstances.
He also expressed complete confidence in the strength, bravery, and readiness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces to counter any threat.
