President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir have formed a consensus to ensure Pakistan's economic and political stability, senior journalist Ansar Abbasi said on Wednesday.

The media veteran, in his article for Geo News, said the trio has agreed to prevent any attempts to destabilise the country and undermine its recovering economy.

"The troika is organised and determined not to destabilise the system and not allow anyone to harm the country's economy on the way to recovery," a source revealed to Mr Abbasi.

The united front has been recognised by International Financial Institutions and rating agencies, acknowledging Pakistan's economic progress.

Following the recent failure to approve the constitutional amendment, President Zardari directed the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to seek consensus on establishing the Federal Constitutional Court and introducing a new judicial appointment system, the renowned columnist noted.

"President Zardari has also requested Maulana Fazlur Rehman's support for the Constitution Bill," he added in his article.

Mr Abbasi quoting sources said that in cases of disputes between the PPP, federal government, or PML-N, President Zardari intervenes to resolve issues.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed to prevent Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from repeating actions like the 2014 sit-in, which "harmed economic development".

PML-N, PPP and establishment share concerns that PTI's actions are driven by self-interest, the journalist wrote.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto warned that delaying the 26th constitutional amendment beyond October 25 could escalate tensions between institutions and harm Parliament.
