PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that the party is facing increasing pressure from its support base to ensure the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated since August 2023 on multiple charges.

In an interview with Geo News, Gohar voiced strong criticism of recent Supreme Court decisions, claiming they unfairly redistributed PTI seats to rival political parties.

He also dismissed speculation about a no-confidence motion against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, calling such rumours baseless and politically motivated.

While rejecting the notion of any formal agreement or "deal" for Imran Khan's release, Gohar acknowledged that PTI is open to backchannel communication—provided it has the explicit approval of the party founder.

He emphasized that any dialogue with the government would take place only under PTI's own terms and conditions.

Earlier, addressing the media, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that despite speculation of internal divisions, the part meeting delivered "a message of unity" and reaffirmed commitment to Imran Khan's leadership.

"It is our decision that we will stand up together for Imran Khan. We have no personal conflict, we are and will remain united and a message of unity needed to be sent in today's meeting," he said.

He added that the session was significant because it marked "the first time that the party formed a strategy together" following the reserved seats verdict.
