Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTI-P) to exclude its co-chairman Mahmood Khan from the party in return for making an alliance to form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), a seniour PTI leader told a private news channel on condition of anonymity.
However, PTI-P has declined the demand and asked PTI to ally with another party, he added.
“Now, we are in contact with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Nazryati and Tehreek-e-Inqilab in KP for the merger,” a PTI leader said.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI approached PTI-P after Jamaat-e-Ismail refused PTI's offer to form a coalition government in KP.
On the other hand, PTI is set to make an alliance with Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Sunni Ittehad Council to form governments in National and Punjab assemblies, according to sources.
The former ruling party will also hold a joint important press conference with the leaders of MWM and SIC today at 3:15pm, PTI said in a post on X.
The PTI is expected to announce a merger with MWM and SIC to get reserved seats for women and minorities in the National and Provincial Assemblies.
The joint press conference will be conducted by PTI acting chairman Barrister Gohar Khan, secretary general Omar Ayub Khan, information secretary Raoof Hassan, MWM chairman Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, and SIC chairperson Sahibzada Hamid Raza at PTI's central secretariat in Islamabad.
