Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed that several party members and supporters, en route to Swabi for the rally scheduled on November 9, were arrested in Karachi on Friday.
Law enforcement reportedly detained more than ten party leaders, notably Raja Azhar and Haleem Adil Sheikh, and transferred them to Sohrab Goth Police Station.
Subsequently, Haleem Adil Sheikh was released a few hours later, the party stated.
PTI leaders also accused police of torturing Raja Azhar, while Haleem Adil Sheikh was arrested after tracing him at Super Highway.
"Police were tracing the leader, when they realised they fled abandoning their vehicles on the road", Police took the leaders' vehicle into their custody.
