Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed that several party members and supporters, en route to Swabi for the rally scheduled on November 9, were arrested in Karachi on Friday.
Law enforcement reportedly detained more than ten party leaders, notably Raja Azhar and Haleem Adil Sheikh, and transferred them to Sohrab Goth Police Station.
Subsequently, Haleem Adil Sheikh was released a few hours later, the party stated.
PTI leaders also accused police of torturing Raja Azhar, while Haleem Adil Sheikh was arrested after tracing him at Super Highway.
"Police were tracing the leader, when they realised they fled abandoning their vehicles on the road", Police took the leaders' vehicle into their custody.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had appealed the supporters across the country to attend their rally as PTI founder Imran Khan gave a call for protest.
On November 2, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced that the party would stage a rally in Swabi on November 9, adding that the party is ready to make the ultimate sacrifice.
“Despite being peaceful protests, our workers have been beaten and arrested the courts acquitted them from the cases but re-arrested with charging a new offence, “this is intolerable.”
“Everyone should tell their families to prepare for the possibility that might not return home,” he said.
