Authorities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have announced the closure of all educational institutions on November 27 due to the ongoing protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The decision comes as the demonstrations continue to disrupt normal life and pose security concerns. The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi, Hassan Waqar Cheema, issued a notification stating that, based on recommendations from the District Intelligence Committee and the current law and order situation, all public and private schools in the Rawalpindi district will remain closed on Wednesday.
The Islamabad administration also confirmed that schools in the federal capital will remain closed for a third consecutive day. This includes both public and private educational institutions.
The district administration cited security risks and the volatile situation as the reason for the extension of the closures.
PTI protests, which have led to road blockages and increased security measures, continue to affect daily life in both cities.
Earlier notifications had already closed schools until November 26, but the ongoing uncertainty has led to the extension of closures.
Authorities have implemented strict security measures around key locations, particularly near protest sites, to maintain order in response to the growing unrest.
