GENEVA: The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz was heckled in Switzerland.
Her visit took a dramatic turn when supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, began chanting slogans upon her entrance.
As Maryam Nawaz exited a building and was departing in a vehicle with a group, a number of PTI supporters, including a woman, assembled outside her location and started chanting slogans aimed at undermining her leadership.
The protesters focused their chants on her, particularly referencing the contentious Form 47, a document pertaining to the 2024 general elections, which PTI alleges has been tampered with.
“Form 47, Form 47!” the demonstrators shouted repeatedly, referring to PTI’s ongoing campaign against supposed electoral fraud and irregularities. This slogan has become a significant part of PTI’s claims that the elections were manipulated, with the party calling for transparency and accountability from the government.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is in Geneva for throat surgery as she visited along with other members for medical treatment recently.
