The Punjab government has launched the registration for the ‘CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025,’ aimed at providing 110,000 latest-generation laptops to deserving students.
The scheme, which includes 2,000 laptops for minority students, is open to matriculated and intermediate students.
Under this initiative, students will receive 13th generation laptops with Core i7 processors. The laptops will be distributed to 20,000 university students, 14,000 college students, 4,000 technical and agricultural college students, and 2,000 medical and dental college students.
Students from South Punjab are expected to make up 32% of the recipients. The laptops will be provided to students studying in fields such as computer science, medicine, engineering, social sciences, business, and agriculture.
To register for the program, eligible students must apply online at cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk.
The eligibility criteria include having a domicile in any district of Punjab, being enrolled in the first or second semester of a BS program at a public university or college, and meeting minimum marks requirements, such as at least 65% for public sector universities or 80% for medical and dental colleges.
The distribution of laptops is expected to begin after Ramadan 2025, with ceremonies planned by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in several locations.
The first shipment of laptops has already arrived in Pakistan, and the distribution is likely to take place in April or May 2025.
