Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the province’s highest civil award and a financial grant of Rs10 million for the family of late Assistant Commissioner Pattoki, Furqan Ahmed Khan, who passed away during flood relief operations while battling cancer.
Despite his deteriorating health, Furqan tirelessly led critical rescue and relief efforts for four consecutive days in flood-affected areas of Pattoki.
He ensured the timely distribution of food, medicine, and essential supplies to affected families, demonstrating exceptional courage and commitment.
Paying tribute to his service, CM Maryam Nawaz stated: “He is a true hero who sacrificed his life while helping people in the most difficult situations. His sense of duty will always be remembered.”
Furqan’s selfless dedication in the face of personal hardship has been widely praised and stands as a powerful example of public service and sacrifice.
The posthumous honour and financial assistance are part of the Punjab government’s broader initiative to recognise and support public servants who demonstrate extraordinary commitment in the line of duty.
