Several areas of Sindh continued to experience extreme heat on Tuesday, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasting that the hot and humid conditions are likely to persist in the coming days.
According to the PMD, temperatures in Karachi and other cities across the province are expected to remain significantly above seasonal norms. Intermittent strong winds are also anticipated today and tomorrow, adding to the discomfort.
The department noted that a new westerly weather system is likely to enter the upper parts of the country on May 1 and may persist until May 5.
This system could bring rainfall to various regions, including parts of Sindh, potentially providing isolated relief between May 2 and 3.
Earlier, the PMD had issued a heatwave alert, stating that a high-pressure system developing over most of the country would lead to a sharp increase in temperatures.
Daytime temperatures in Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan are projected to remain 5–7°C above normal until at least May 1.

Meanwhile, central and upper Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to see temperatures 4–6°C above average.
Some relief is expected around April 30 with the arrival of the new system, which could bring rain, wind, and thunderstorms to areas including AJK, Islamabad, the Potohar region, northeast Punjab, upper KP, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
