Ramazan moon likely to be sighted on February 18

The probability of the Ramazan Moon being sighted on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, is high, as the met office indicated on Wednesday that favorable weather conditions would prevail in most parts of the country.
According to the climate data processing centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, “according to astronomical parameters, there is a fair chance of sighting the new moon of Ramazan 1447 AH on the evening of Feb 18, 2026.” This implies that there is a possibility of sighting the Ramazan moon on the 29th of Shaban 1447 AH.
The birth of the Ramazan moon will occur on February 17 at 5:01 pm.
On February 18, the conditions in the country, except for a small part, are likely to be partly cloudy or clear, providing good opportunities for moon emergence.
According to the PMD, the last time for moon sighting will be 6:58 pm in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 7:47 pm in Balochistan, 7:24 pm in Sindh, 7:13 pm in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, 7:08 pm in Punjab, and 6:53 pm in Gilgit-Baltistan.
