Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman’s anticipated visit to Pakistan has been postponed for over a month, sources said on Saturday.
According to sources, the de facto Kingdom leader was scheduled to come to Islamabad on May 19 for a two-day visit.
However, the fresh schedule of his visit to Pakistan would be prepared after mutual consent.
Sources added that the reason behind the postponement of the visit is yet to be confirmed.
It is pertinent to mention here that Premier Shehbaz Sharif, during his visit to the Kingdom, had invited the Crown Prince, which was accepted by him.
Diplomatic sources said that now MBS is expected to visit Pakistan soon after Hajj and Eid-ul-Adha in the third week of June.
The visit has significant importance for the cash-strapped country and it would be a part of the measures Islamabad has taken to attract foreign investment in the country.
The visit of the de facto ruler will pave the way for much-needed investment from Riyadh. It would attract Saudi investment worth $5 billion in Pakistan.
Previously, a 50-member high-level Saudi delegation led by Deputy Investment Minister of Saudi Arabia Ibrahim Almubarak had come to Pakistan for a two-day visit and explored several opportunities for investment and trading in Pakistan.
