Schools to remain closed on February 14

The Sindh government has announced a public holiday for all public and private schools across the province on 14 (15th Shaban) in observance of Shab-e-Barat.

According to a notification issued by the School Education and Literacy Department, all educational institutions under its administrative control will remain closed on the specified date.

The decision was made in accordance with the recommendations of Sindh’s sub-committee of the steering committee on education.

Shab-e-Barat, observed on the night between the 14th and 15th of Shaban, holds religious significance for Muslims, who engage in prayers, visit graveyards, and seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah.

Special religious gatherings will take place across the country to mark the occasion.
