Security forces killed eight militants during an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district on Saturday.

According to officials, a total of 51 militants have been killed in security operations carried out across the province over the past four days.

In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for eliminating eight militants in Bannu. He said the forces were achieving “major successes against terrorism under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam” and reaffirmed that the government was determined to eradicate all forms of militancy from the country.

The military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in its statement that the joint intelligence-based operation was launched on 21 November 2025 after information was received about the presence of militants in the area.

During the operation, the hideout was targeted, and after an intense exchange of fire, eight militants were killed. ISPR added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site.

The individuals killed were allegedly involved in several attacks on security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as targeted killings of civilians.

The statement noted that intelligence-driven actions in the region have been significantly intensified in recent months. These coordinated security measures, according to ISPR, are designed to restrict militant movement, dismantle their facilitation networks, and limit their ability to regroup.
