The Sindh Education Department has announced that all public and private schools in the province will observe summer vacations from June 1 to July 31.

This decision was made following a notification from the Steering Committee of the education department.

The notification also mentioned that there was a proposal to start summer vacations earlier, similar to the pattern in Punjab. However, the Met Department reported that there would be no heatwave in Karachi during May.

The Met Department has predicted that most parts of Pakistan will experience continued hot and dry weather. The central and southern regions are expected to face particularly high temperatures, exacerbating the current heatwave.

In Sindh and Punjab, temperatures are forecasted to rise 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal from May 21 to 23, and further increase to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal from May 23 to 27.

Additionally, the Punjab School Education Department has updated the summer holiday schedule for public and private schools in the province. According to their notification, all schools in Punjab, including those in Lahore, will now be closed from May 25 onward.
