Sindh approves Rs485m for uplifting of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz shrine, Lal Bagh in Sehwan

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the provincial cabinet that approved a broad package of development initiatives covering water supply, drainage, infrastructure, energy, health, security and education sectors.
According to officials, the cabinet sanctioned Rs8.825 billion in additional funds for water supply and drainage schemes across the province. The allocation will be used for 16 Annual Development Programme (ADP) projects for the financial year 2025-26, following recommendations of the Cabinet Committee on Finance presented by Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Shah.
In addition, the cabinet also approved Rs11.198 billion worth of major infrastructure schemes for Karachi, aimed at improving roads, bridges and urban connectivity across the city.
Separately, the cabinet approved a non-ADP project titled “Rehabilitation and Uplifting of Dargah Qalandar Lal Shahbaz, Lal Bagh and Civic Centre, Sehwan” with an estimated cost of Rs485 million.
The project is designed to upgrade facilities and surrounding public infrastructure at the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan along with adjacent civic areas. An initial amount of Rs24.25 million, equivalent to five per cent of the total cost, has been released for the current financial year.
