Sindh Assembly sit-in: Court grants post-arrest bail to 30 JI workers

An anti-terrorism court has granted bail to 30 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami who were arrested while trying to stage a protest outside the Sindh Assembly on Saturday.

The court ordered the held workers to submit surety bonds of Rs30,000 each for their release.

According to the police, the workers were attempting to enter the Red Zone where the Sindh Assembly was located. They were taken into custody on Saturday night.

Police said the workers were produced before the court after their arrest and had been sent to jail on judicial remand.

Officials added that the case against the workers has been registered at the Aram Bagh police station.

Following the court’s decision, the release of the accused will be subject to submission of the required bail bonds.
