Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has accepted K-Electric Chief Executive Officer Moonis Alvi's appeal against his conviction in a workplace harassment case.

According to media reports, Moonis Alvi had challenged the decision of the Provincial Ombudsman by filing an appeal with the Governor of Sindh. The governor accepted the appeal, setting aside the ombudsman’s ruling.

In his decision, the governor observed that the WhatsApp messages presented by the complainant were professional in nature and contained respectful language used for the CEO. The ruling further stated that the complainant was not terminated by the CEO but by the Human Resources Board due to unsatisfactory job performance.

K-Electric issued a formal notification regarding the matter to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, confirming that its CEO had been cleared of all charges.

Earlier, K-Electric had approached the Sindh High Court to seek a stay on the implementation of the ombudsman’s decision. The court suspended the order related to removal from service but upheld the fine imposed.

Following the governor’s decision, the harassment case filed by the complainant was not upheld on professional grounds, resulting in Monis Alvi’s acquittal from all allegations.
