In a move aimed at improving traffic management across the port city, the Sindh government has imposed a strict ban on all types of parking along several key highways in Karachi.
The decision was taken following the directives of Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, with immediate enforcement planned.
Under the new regulation, parking will be strictly prohibited on II Chundrigar Road, specifically from Shaheen Complex to Tower, as well as on Muhammad Bin Qasim Road leading up to SM Law College.
During a high-level meeting, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah emphasised that violations of traffic rules will not be tolerated and ordered a comprehensive crackdown on fancy number plates, unregistered vehicles, and substandard license plates.

In an effort to accommodate affected commuters, the government has announced that alternative parking arrangements will be provided on railway grounds to prevent inconvenience to the public.
DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah confirmed that the Karachi Traffic Police were actively implementing these measures as per the Chief Minister’s orders. “We are fully committed to ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and taking necessary steps to discourage illegal parking,” he added.
The initiative was a part of a broader plan to tackle Karachi's growing traffic congestion and promote more disciplined road usage across the city.
