Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, announced on Tuesday that the provincial government will soon roll out the second phase of the Pink Scooties Scheme.

He encouraged women to apply for driving licenses, enroll in training sessions, and register for the upcoming phase of the initiative.

Memon highlighted that the Transport Department is offering free driving training and licenses to women, along with providing Scooties to female students and working women to help ease their daily commute.

Sharing details about the program’s success, the minister said the first phase of the Pink Scooties project had received a strong response, with many women learning to ride, obtaining their licenses, and using the Scooties for everyday travel.

He added that the Sindh government wants to see more women benefit from the initiative, enabling them to pursue education and employment safely and with dignity. Projects like the People’s Bus Service, Pink Bus Service, Electric Bus Service, and Pink Scooties reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring safe, affordable, and respectful public transport for all citizens.

Memon emphasized that women’s empowerment — both social and economic — is a key part of the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) philosophy. He said the initiative continues the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, reaffirming the PPP’s dedication to creating equal opportunities for women in all spheres of life.
