One soldier was martyred, and 15 terrorists were killed during a security operation in the Sambaza area of Balochistan’s Zhob district, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Tuesday.

The operation, which was based on intelligence, resulted in an intense exchange of fire between security forces and the terrorists.

During the engagement, Sepoy Arifur Rehman, a 32-year-old soldier from Mansehra district, embraced martyrdom while fighting bravely.

The ISPR statement also confirmed that a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the slain terrorists.

Following the operation, a sanitisation process was launched to neutralise any remaining terrorists in the area.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the professionalism of the security forces for eliminating 15 terrorists and expressed condolences for the martyrdom of Sepoy Rehman.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed the government's commitment to eradicating terrorism, emphasizing that security forces are working tirelessly to protect the nation.

The operation comes amid a rise in attacks targeting security forces and law enforcement agencies, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
