Four people were injured in an explosion at a mosque in South Waziristan’s Azam Warsak Bazaar, according to the police.

Among the wounded was Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) district chief Abdullah Nadeem. Following the blast, a rescue operation was launched, and the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.

District Police Officer (DPO) Asif Bahadur told the media that improvised explosive device had been planted inside the mosque and the bast took place at 1:45 pm.

This was the second attack on a mosque in Pakistan during the holy month of Ramadan.

Last week, a bomb blast occurred at the Darul Uloom Haqqania mosque in Akora Khattak, Nowshera, killing eight people, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S) chief Maulana Hamidul Haq, and injuring several others.
