Traffic Police announce New Year arrangements for Sea View, Clifton

The Karachi Traffic Police have announced special traffic arrangements for Sea View and surrounding recreational areas ahead of New Year celebrations, scheduled for the night between December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

According to a press release issued by the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Traffic), large numbers of citizens are expected to visit popular spots such as Sea View, Clifton and Bagh Ibn Qasim to mark the arrival of the new year.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, Sea View Road will be declared one-way from McDonald’s to the Clock Tower during the night. Traffic coming from the Clock Tower side will not be allowed to return towards McDonald’s. Motorists will instead be directed to use Khiyaban-e-Ittehad Road or the Do Darya route for their return journey.

The traffic police also announced that heavy vehicles, including water tankers, dumpers, trailers and trucks, will only be allowed to enter the city after 2am.

Authorities warned that legal action will be taken against drivers using broken or loud silencers, riding or driving without silencers, or driving recklessly. Such violators will be handed over to local police.
