A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Pishin district of Balochistan on Tuesday, causing panic among residents, though no immediate casualties or damage were reported.

According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake’s tremors were strongly felt in Pishin. The quake's epicentre was located 21 kilometres southeast of Pishin, with a depth of 12 kilometres.

No injuries or damage to property have been confirmed, the tremors triggered fear among locals. Residents in several neighbourhoods rushed out of their homes in panic, with many reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.

Meanwhile, Karachi also experienced mild tremors on Monday, with two minor earthquakes recorded. According to the Seismological Centre, the first quake measured 2.5 on the Richter scale, followed by a second quake of 2.6 magnitude. Both had their epicentre around DHA City at a depth of 40 kilometres.

The recent activity brings the total number of recorded tremors in Karachi since June 1 to 42, sparking growing concern among citizens and experts alike.

Authorities have urged residents to stay calm but vigilant, and emergency services remain on alert in case of further seismic activity.

Earlier, the Chief Meteorologist Ameer Haider had stated that the tremors felt across Karachi were the result of seismic activity along the Landhi fault line, which was undergoing a normalisation process.
