The US woman, allegedly abandoned by her Karachi-based online boyfriend, has been admitted to the psychiatry department at Karachi's Jinnah Post Graduate Hospital for a mental health examination.
Onijah Andrew was transferred to the hospital following a video statement from her son, claiming that his mother was struggling with bipolar disorder.
The woman, residing in Karachi since October 10, had an invalid visa and had been roaming the city. She was finally taken into care after authorities became concerned about her mental well-being.
Subsequently, she was admitted to the psychiatric ward.
According to sources, the woman was speaking incoherently, indicating a potential mental health issue. She will undergo a thorough examination by expert doctors to assess her condition.

"My mother travelled to Pakistan to meet a man and his family. She was supposed to return within two weeks, but she never came back," he said.
Jeremiah disclosed that he and his sibling made multiple efforts to convince their mother to return, even purchasing a ticket for her, but all attempts failed.
