Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly refused India's allegations of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam attack, stating that Pakistan is fully prepared to address any situation and would not compromise even on its water rights.

Addressing a cadets' passing-out parade ceremony at the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that Pakistan stands at the frontline in the fight against terrorism.

PM Shehbaz declared India's claims linking the Pahalgam attack to Pakistan as “baseless” and “lacking evidence,” stressing that Pakistan, as a responsible state, calls on the international community to conduct an “unbiased” investigation.

However, he warned that India’s threats are intolerable.

“Pakistan will respond with full force if any attempt is made to suspend its water in violation of the Indus Waters Treaty,” the prime minister asserted, adding that “water is a lifeline” which Pakistan will never compromise on.

He emphasised that Pakistani people always denounced and condemned terrorism, “ our wish for peace would not be taken as our weakness.”

“Pakistan is a severe victim of terrorism, we lost 90,000 citizens due to the terrorism and it has left the Pakistani economy with billions of rupees lost,” but still it has been following the UN charter for peace with full responsibility, so far, he added.

Quoting the Founder of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the prime minister reiterated, “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan.”

He lamented that despite multiple UN resolutions, the internationally recognised Kashmir dispute remains unresolved.

“Let there be no doubt: Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination until they achieve their rights through their great struggle and sacrifices,” he concluded.
