Two young men lost their lives after a speeding water tanker collided with their motorcycle near the Inter-Board Office, Abdullah College in Karachi on Tuesday evening.

According to the police, the victims, identified as 20-year-old Zubair and 18-year-old Ayan, were riding together when the accident occurred. Both died on the spot due to the severe impact.

The incident sparked immediate outrage among bystanders and local residents.

Enraged citizens set the water tanker on fire and attacked the driver. Police intervened quickly, rescuing the driver from the mob and working with the public to extinguish the fire.

The driver was taken into custody and shifted to the Paposh Nagar police station along with the damaged tanker. Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident.

Speaking to the media, Rizwan, the elder brother of Zubair, shared an emotional account, saying that the two friends had left home simply to enjoy ice cream. “They were inseparable since childhood,” he said, mourning the untimely deaths.

The tragic incident raised renewed concerns about reckless driving by heavy vehicles in residential and busy urban areas of Karachi. Locals have called on the authorities to implement stricter safety measures and regulate water tankers operating in the city.
