Karachi residents can expect colder weather in the coming days, with temperatures potentially reaching single digits as per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
A shallow westerly wave was affecting weather patterns in western Balochistan and now it is predicted to drift northeast, potentially impacting the upper areas in the next 24 hours, the Met office said in a statement.
The weather expert, Jawad Memon, indicated the prevalence of cold and dry weather across the country's lowland regions.
He predicted that a westerly system might enter Pakistan via Balochistan by Friday night. However, the weatherman does not anticipate precipitation in Sindh.
Subsequently, a cold wave is expected to sweep across the province as the system dissipates.
“Mercury may drop to single digits in the suburban areas of Karachi,” Memon added.
As per the Met Office, while the lowland regions will stay dry and cool, it expects the upper regions to be gripped by biting cold and occasional cloud cover during the next week.
Fog is expected to occur in the upper Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions primarily during morning and nighttime hours.
